  • Streamlined legislative work: Fewer conflicts of competence and better cooperation mechanisms among committees, possibility to have temporary legislative committees to deal with crosscutting proposals
  • Improved scrutiny of the Commission: Special scrutiny hearings and ad hoc plenary sessions to quiz the Commission, improved process for confirmation hearings of Commissioners-designate
  • Upgraded focus on taxpayers’ money: A more effective approach on budget, discharge and legislation, with targeted assessments for all legislative proposals affecting the budget
  • Initiated by President Metsola and endorsed by the Parliament’s Conference of Presidents in January and December 2023, the revision process included a working group composed of representatives of all political groups

For: 334(54 %). Against: 288(46 %). Abstentions: 2(0 %). In total, 624 MEPs voted. 81 MEPs didn’t vote.
